Contemporary and jazz weekly classes

Two hour class per week

1 hour of contemporary technique

1 hour jazz technique

The jazz technique class will be run as a composite class with the NPA level 6 in dance.

Age 9-18 years inclusive formate

The objective of the company is to create weekly technique and performance classes to support an understanding of performance skills in dance, musical theatre and drama.

Performance opportunities will be offered to all company participants thought the year and an end of year production will also take place at the Orkney theatre.

Company participants aged 11-18 years will be enrolled into the NPA in dance or musical theatre programs in partnership with Edinburgh College to gain recognition in academic and practical studies in dance or musical theatre. NPA awards will be SQA Approved and support future studies regarding the creative industries for college or university entry.

Company participants are asked to commit to 42 weeks of the year term times only, for practical subjects to support the full cast to upcoming performances in the Orkney community and further afield.

£10membership is asked at the start of the academic year.

This is an exciting opportunity for any performer in dance, drama and musical theatre to be taught by some of Orkney most qualified dance and vocal training educators in Orkney.
